DCUfm wins big at DCU Hybrid Awards
DCUfm took home multiple wins and nominations at last night’s DCU Hybrid Awards 2012.
Hosted by the DCU Media Production Society and adjudicated by a panel of high-profile judges including RTÉ’s Bryan Dobson and Ruth Scott, the awards celebrate the long-standing tradition of excellence and creativity by DCU students in the area of communications and media. DCUfm’s wins and nominations are below.
Barry Lenihan won the News and Current Affairs category with his now-famous interview with Bertie Ahern. Also nominated for this award were 4 documentaries to be broadcast on Newswire by Cian Mac Mahon, Ciaran O’Connor, Nicky Ryan and Roisin Tracey.
Radio DJ of the Year went to Preloaded host Derren Regan. Also nominated in this category were Mike Hurley, Vanessa Monaghan, Russell James, Robyn Keleghan, Seamus Kiernan, Lorna Finnegan and Colin Brennan.
Best Website went to Cian Mac Mahon with the recently redesigned www.DCUfm.com
Irish Language Radio Show of the Year went to ”Freagraí na Seachtaine” by Frances Mulraney & Mícheál Mac Giolla Chearr. Also nominated was Paddy Carberry, Seán Snee & Eoin O Dhuill’s entry; “Spórt de Gach Sórt”
Music and Entertainment Radio Show of the Year went to Preloaded with Darren Regan, Brian McEvoy and Ruth Jephson. Also nominated was Who Shot First hosted by Kevin Dolan, Liam Doyle and Kevin Larney
